French (Bostonian) bowmaker receives MacArthur award

It is such a pleasure to witness how rich the bowmaking culture is in Boston.  Benoit Rolland moved from France to work in USA and choose Boston for home.  He is a brillant innovator.  He follows the traditional French bow making tradition and when he introduces a new design he does so to solve a problem.  Design is problem solving.

Congratulations Benoit, and best wishes for many bows to come.
