Testore's Varnish Chipping and Ground
Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 5:05PM The varnish on several Testore violins and violas is of a beautiful amber color. It chipped in a way that suggests a thin varnish layer, well isolated from the wood with a ground coat.
The scratces on this viola vary in color from very subtle shades of grey to darker burnt umber tone.
